This is another of the three-dimensional cast versions of the Saint Helices series, and is likely a harbinger of several versions yet to come. The central areas of the composition are rendered here (as in version 80) as a series of undulating forms. I find this new approach to be intriguing because it sets up a visual scenario wherein the inherent factors of the composition such as movement and rhythmic interplay reach a new level of intricacy and sophistication. Saint Helices 81 is the most recent edition to the overall series. There are several new versions of the Saint Helices composition presently in the works and they will be available for viewing here at Fryeworks museum in the near future.
