Saint Helices 48, 40" x 32", acrylic on canvas, 1993. Artist's collection.

The Saint Helices series recommences with a much larger scale and new painting mediums in mind. I have decided that I want to pursue a more crisp and more "accurate" presentation of the composition and its elements. This version utilizes the slanted design and is painted with acrylic paint which I find has the ability to carry a much finer line than the organic nature of the watercolor. The narrative aspect of the composition is very pronounced here with the orbs of light energy in the lower-central area, and the silhouette of one of the towers of the cathedral at Chartres superimposed on "twin towers" in the lower-most area.
