Saint Helices 46, 14" x 12", watercolor, 1992. Private collection.

I added a bit more space to the top and bottom of the page in this version as to prevent the cropping of the edge forms at the upper and lower edges of the paper. The ellipses are glazed with gold metallic paint over the water color. In an effort to address the diagonal character of the composition I added red diamond-shaped forms which grow in scale as they traverse the width of the picture plane, as well as green square forms which sequentially turn in perspective and grow in scale as they descend through the composition parallel to the angle of the lower-central form's orientation to the picture plane.
