The Saint Helices composition is primarily an abstract arrangement of forms, lines, and patterns that I regard as being celestial in nature and where many subjects and levels of content are brought into play. While there are formal and conceptual constants that have not changed since the earliest versions of the composition in the late 1980s, the composition also includes an environmental element that has experienced numerous changes since the composition’s inception. Even though the Saint Helices composition is the offspring of many sources in art such as the Futurists, the Surrealists, or even the Limbourgh Brothers’ “Tres Riches Heurs," the Saint Helices composition is sui generis. The composition’s originality results from my pursuit of a creative vision that is by default detached from common concerns with popular style, and the latest range of trends in visual art and art criticism.
